What You Should Know About California Solar Installers

What You Should Know About California Solar Installers

Article by Razcaz Lompe

So I’m retired now, and that i have decided you’re ready to go solar. Exactly what does one thing have to do with another, well, If only I’d something more noble to express but really I just want to save cash on my small utility bill, I wish to increase the value of my home, and that i have plenty of time on my small hands now to actually get it take action. Fortunately in everyday life I have learned how to maintain a position in which I’m able to be a picky about what I want and usually have it (usually). With regards to installing solar panels I had no idea things i was getting myself into, so I had to buckle down and do your homework and pray that would find a solar company that could meet all of my demands. I wanted the very best technology placed on the house, I needed so that it is produced by an in-depth pocketed reputable company in the U.S.A, and I wanted a long term warranty.

Originally from New York, I relocated to Tucson about 12 years back to flee the cold temperature. People complain, we get a yearly average 300 plus sunny days here, but no matter how hot it gets, I would take each and everyone of them over one bone chilling Ny day. Not to mention that instead I sold a shoebox sized condo coupled with ample money to buy my 24,000 square foot 4 bedroom home is located in a basic suburban neighborhood. There are a lot of old people much like me living around here, I meet each week with a group of ladies at the neighborhood club house and play cards. Janet, one of the gals, has solar panels on her behalf house. She said her electricity bill for the entire year was .80. I wasn’t certain basically believed her, but she sparked my interest, and so i chose to do some research.

I used Google to find information online about solar manufactures within the U.S., Kyocera, BP Solar, Evergreen Solar, Sunwize, and Solar World are the companies that claim to be U.S. companies, although not all are really American, and most of them don’t manufacture their parts within the U.S. they place them here. Evergreen was the only real actual American owned company. They manufacture all their parts and the entire panel in the U.S. – but after making .5 million in the second quarter of 2010, they are setting up shop in China in order to make more profits. (I wonder what money they need to make in order to keep creating green jobs in the U.S. and stop giving jobs to people who are instructed to work in miserable conditions for peanuts).

The last company I called was Solar World. I spoken with a really bright and pleasant man named Pete DeNapoli for more than Half an hour. Pete has worked with solar world for more than Two-and-a-half decades and that he provided the complete history of Solar panel technology, an update on the current state of the solar economy, and that he told me more details about his product than I could ever remember in a single sitting. I actually do remember Solar World continues to be making solar panel technology in the U.S. for 33 many they grow all their materials and manufacture the entire solar power right here in the U.S.. Solar World boast about their 25 year linear warranty, Pete claims is the greatest in the market because they guarantee that the actual power of a new module cannot deviate in the specified rated power by more than 3% throughout the first year; and afterward, the ability won’t decrease by more than 0.7 percent from the rated power per year. So at year 10, capacity is certain to attend least 90% from the nameplate instead of the industry standard guarantee of 80% (I took notes during our talk). Based on a completely independent test conducted by the German company Photo International Module Test, Evergreen, Kyocera, BP Solar, and Solar World were compared for quality inside a multi-year energy output test, and Solar World won. Although I was leaning towards Solar World I still had one concern, every company I researched claimed to achieve the best technology, and I knew that certain of these needed to be much better than the other.

I made a decision to go to my trusty source for all things true and factual, Wikipedia to discover for good who the best solar clients are. “The market leader in solar panel efficiency (measured by energy conversion ratio) isSunPower aSan Jose (California) based company. Sunpower’s cells have a conversion ratio of 24.2%, well over the market average of 12-18%.” The only other solar power panels which are more efficient aren’t yet manufactured for residential use.

I was curious; why didn’t the 3rd party websites I’d reviewed for information about competing solar companies mention SunPower? Naturally I’d to research further. Arrived at find out, SunPower is dominating the solar panel technology world simply because they have a great technology and their design is patented, which keeps the other companies from having the ability to compete with them. Their panels are up to 50% more efficient. It made sense the solar industry would be put off by promoting SunPower because SunPower comes with an upper hand on all the other companies up to now. SunPower an united states owned solar manufacturer having a 25 year warranty, deep pockets, and superior technology still had one down side; it’s more costly than Solar World.

Oh how I like to save $ 1! I hate to harp on my small age, but saving a dollar is one of the last joys that I have left. However, the highest technology factor would be a real feature too because my daughter will inherit home and that i want to make sure that any addition I invest in will add long-lasting value. Now’s decision time for me personally. Both Solar World and SunPower offered me almost everything which i want, so I set up a conference with their installers. I will ask them to walk me through their procedures after which I will select a company to choose, because after all the study it sometimes just comes down to looking them within the eye and going together with your gut.

The Solar Electric Panel

The Solar Electric Panel

Article by Bernard Fenley

The words “solar electric panel” have different meanings for different people depending on their point of view. There has been a great deal of buzz about using solar energy to supplement our use of fossil fuels to create electricity. The Obama Administration has talked about investing billions in stimulus money to help fund various green initiatives in solar energy, electric cars and more. Just what is a solar electric panel? Wikipedia defines the phrase as a photovoltaic array. A photovoltaic array is a linked collection of solar cells. The cells convert light energy into direct current energy via the photovoltaic effect.

The power that one module can produce is seldom enough to power a home so several modules are linked together to form an array. To convert the power to alternating current that your home uses an inverter needs to be installed to power lights, supply current for appliances, motors and other loads. Modules are connected in series to achieve the desired voltage rate and then in parallel to produce more current. Solar electric panels are usually rated by their peak power output in watts or kilowatts.

Are you tired of having your electric bill continually increase year after year? Would you like to create some more room in your budget every month? If you live in an area that is sunny most of the time then you have the ability to generate some of your own power. What you will need to do is to get some solar electric panels and set up your own personal power generating grid. There are companies that specialize in the installation of solar electric panels for the home it can be an expensive prospect when you add in their mark up and the installation labor costs. If you are even moderately handy around the house you can set up your own solar array.

Solar panels have been used to generate the power needed for natural gas monitoring systems, traffic lights, street lights and even water pumps. Major brands like Sharp, GE, BP, Solar World and Mitsubishi make solar panels in power ranges up to 175 watts. Pricing ranges from for a 5 watt model to over 0 for a 175 watt model. In addition to the panels you will need mounting hardware, connectors, an inverter and the wiring to cut the power into your home grid. Some units use batteries to store the generated power.

Solar Panels…affordable For Your Home

Solar Panels…affordable For Your Home

There is no need to go into the entire history of solar energy, accept to point out the advancements in the last five years. The development of transistor and accompanying semiconductor technology, has drastically  increased photovoltaic power and efficiency.  Today, commonly available solar panels are 12% efficient, which is four times greater than only a few years ago. For those of you who are not familiar with the term photovoltaic or PV, I will save you a search of an online definition. PV is short for Photovoltaic, and according to Wikipedia, it  is the field of technology and research related to the application of solar cells for energy by converting solar energy (sunlight, including ultra violet radiation) directly into electricity. In other words, it’s the science behind solar panels. Here are a few facts that do indeed make installing  solar panels  a viable and affordable alternative for any home owner.

1.The small amounts of the sun’s rays that hit your roof, greatly surpass all the energy that is transported through the utility company electric wires.
2.The entire total of  fossil fuels on Earth can be matched by the solar energy output of the sun on Earth, in less than three days.
3.proper solar energy system can more than handle all your electricity needs.

An average home has more than enough roof area to produce enough solar electricity to supply all of its power needs. You must determine what those needs are. What I mean is, are you just planning on heating your water, or perhaps looking at producing enough energy to meet your entire electrical needs? Are you going off grid, or thinking about selling the excess energy back to the power company?

A solar energy system has no moving parts to break down, and requires very little maintenance. Another very important aspect is that contrary to most contractors’ misconception it is not a difficult installation. For those of you who live or are considering living in extremely remote or rural areas if electricity is available it is usually expensive. In those cases solar power is undoubtedly the right way to go. However, even in areas where power lines are nearby, solar may still be a viable alternative to being connected to a power company. All that is needed is an inverter,  which converts direct current (DC) power from the solar cells to alternating current (AC), which are what most home appliances run on. A solar home, except for the obvious changes to the roof, will look and operate just like any home does when it was connected to the power line.

If you have decided to seriously look into solar power for your home, there are some guides available to help you save thousands of dollars, by doing it yourself. You must be careful however, because many instructional books and guides are  confusing and have complicated diagrams. So before getting started you must find the correct step-by-step instructions. You don’t need to be a builder.  Anybody can make solar panels. It’s really quite easy to make solar panels once you know a few industry secrets. You must make sure that the guide you chose has step by step instruction, detailed diagrams, plenty of pictures and video teaching aids.

So, how much will it actually cost, to make your own solar panels?  You can, with the right instruction, build your solar panels for less than 0 each. I suggest that if you don’t have the time or you’re just not willing to put in the effort, you can hire a couple of competent handy men to implement the project, and still save thousands. Real people, not corporations, have come up with efficient and extremely affordable programs that walk you through step by step instructions, on how to build and install renewable energy for your home.

My own extensive research has helped me narrow down the best of the best instructional guides, complete with blueprints, photos, and in the case of my number one choice, video for that do-it-yourself solar power  project you might be considering. Obviously, I can’t go into great detail in this article, but if I have piqued your interest, you can get all the facts of this or many other ideas on how to go green at my site Possibly GREEN.

There you’ll find the right ways to live a greener life, including up to date articles and information on Solar Panels…Affordable for Your Home.
